    An eccentric, colourful and at times controversial figure, Wendy Wood was also a gifted artist, sculptor and writer. Among her most daring escapades was in 1932 when she led a group of people through the gates of Stirling Castle and hauled down the Union Flag and replaced it with a large Lion Rampant. Less than twenty years after her death, she would be pleased to see a Scottish Parliament once again in Edinburgh
