Saunders College Building Expansion: RIT’s Saunders College of Business will break ground on the expansion and renovation of Max Lowenthal Hall this Fall. Designed by LaBella Associates, the renovations will update existing spaces and add new ones, nearly doubling the size of Saunders College.

Gene Polisseni Center: Home to RIT Division 1 men’s and women’s hockey teams Serving as the home for RIT men’s and women’s hockey games, its groundbreaking was held on October 19, 2012 during Brick City Homecoming. The arena is located on the south side of the Student Alumni Union in the heart of the campus. While it serves primarily as a venue for ice hockey, the arena functions as a multi-purpose facility. Gene Polisseni, a prominent businessman, philanthropist, and avid sports fan, is now intertwined with the future of hockey at Rochester Institute of Technology. Mr. Polisseni, who founded the Polisseni Foundation with his wife Wanda, served as vice president of marketing at Paychex, a company founded by Tom Golisano, until his death in 2001. Ever since, the Polisseni Foundation has focused its support toward improving quality-of-life issues related to education, human services, and civic improvement across the Rochester region.

The SHED: Coming soon! The Student Hall for Exploration and Development (SHED), a 100,000-plus-square-foot facility, will become the epicenter of what RIT represents, housing a huge makerspace, black-box theater, dance studio, and music rehearsal spaces.

Wallace Library: Home to Java Wally’s, A popular and eclectic coffee shop located on the first floor of the Wallace Library. Centrally positioned on the 1,300-acre campus, RIT Libraries encompass Wallace Library, the Cary Collection, and the RIT Archives. Wallace Library is the hub for research and information exchange, housing traditional and digital research materials conveniently under one roof. The library is best described as a high-tech multimedia resource center offering access to a vast array of information resources, also functioning as a place for the RIT community to gather, talk, connect, explore new ideas, and more. Wallace Library is conveniently accessible as it is open over 120 hours a week with extended hours before and during finals. For the late night owl, our After Hours Rooms are open 24 hours, Monday through Thursday plus Sunday.
