Frontage This terrace house is a recreation of one that used to stand at 33 Bishop's Close Street in Spennymoor, former home of Norman Cornish and his family. Just like in our town, it was a mid-terrace house built for colliery workers sometime around 1900. When the coal industry was Nationalised in 1947 the house became the property of the National Coal Board.
