In 1968 the musical “Paint Your Wagon,†starring Lee Marvin, Clint Eastwood and Jean Seberg, was filmed in this remote area in the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest in Northeast Oregon. People were flown in on helicopters. Large items were trucked on gravel mountain roads. "No Name City" was built on this site along East Eagle Creek and dismantled and hauled away when the filming ended.
