Until the 1960s, the Annual Spring Bulb and Flower Show was held at the California Nursery Company to advertise the nursery's trees, flowers, and shrubs. As one of the first garden retail store in Northern California, this proved extremely successful and good for business. Visitors traveled from all around the Bay Area to come to the show.

The Old Adobe was a structure constructed by Don Jose Vallejo when the California Nursery Company's Land still belonged to Mission San Jose. George C. Roeding Jr. turned this structure into a brand for the company.

The Golden Gate International Exposition was an extremely large and important historical event for the Bay Area. It was also called the San Francisco Fair or Pageant of the Pacific, marking the recognition of the San Francisco Bay Area as a gateway to the Pacific. Much like at the Panama Pacific International Exposition, the California Nursery Company provided most of the plants at the exposition.
