McLean Falls, Catlins Forest Park Otago Region, New Zealand. The Catlins is an area of significant ecological beauty at the very bottom corner of New Zealand's South Island, part of the Southern Scenic Route, which my wife and I travelled as a roadtrip in April 2021. The damp climate feeds the temperate rainforests, producing scenes like this. It is also one of the few areas in the country with completely undeveloped beaches, giving travelers a good chance to see a coastline as it was before Europeans or even Maori arrived in New Zealand.
