Battle Of Britain Memorial Flight Hangar The Battle Of Britain Memorial Flight is a unique living tribute to all those airmen who sacrificed their lives in WWII and in an era of fast high performance jets, it is a reminder of the remarkable achievements of the men who flew and maintained these historic aircraft in WWII. The flight operates a Lancaster, five Spitfires, two Hurricanes, two Chipmunks, and a Dakota. In 1986, under a unique arrangement between Lincolnshire County Council and the Royal Air Force it became possible to view these historic aircraft at their base at RAF Coningsby.
