Sculpture named “The Tiber", carved circa 2nd century, A.D., Musée du Louvre, Paris. The Tiber was a Roman river. This sculpture was likely part of a temple in Rome, that was discovered in 1512. The French seized it from Italy in 1797 and it has been housed at the Louvre ever since. The Louvre room in which it's located is in its original state from when it was the palace of French royalty in the 1650s.
