9 - Station "piesitos" (Little Feet ) This altar is part of the astronomical observatory, it is located in the third row associated with the solar year. It is a large stone, with a smooth surface and, on it, the pair of a sculpted footprints. The extraordinary thing about this monument is the perfect alignment towards the sunrise on the winter solstice, December 21. Large offerings of Late Preclassic and Early Classic vessels have been found at its base, indicating the importance given to the solar calendar.
