Final 40 The archaeological vestiges of the city show that the decision to settle in this location was deliberately chosen. It became a center of the commercial connection between those who traded from the Isthmus of Tehuantepec in Mexico, to El Salvador and Costa Rica, also passing through the highlands and Kaminaljuyú in Guatemala City. It was also a focus for science, with impressive works of architecture, urban planning and astronomy.
