8 - Astronomical Observatory Station From the arrangement of various structures at Tak'alik Ab'aj, it is known that astronomy was an integral part of the city. Using Olmec, Maya, and Zoomorph sculptures, three rows of monuments were created, representing the history of astronomical observations to measure the passage of time. These lines represent orientations of stellar constellations. One of them points to the Ursa Major constellation that, according to the Olmec culture, represented the jaguar's mouth; another pointed to the Draco constellation, which has the shape of a dragon or snake; the third line is associated with the solar year.
